I had an interesting conversation with a profession colleague, Tim James of Pendragon .  He was visiting Omaha and saw Omaha and saw I was at the show so he stopped by.

He was really surprised by the extreme amount of buy/sell jewelry and also by the abundance of buy/sell wood and craft pieces, we knows the distributor who is a friend of his.  This is not how the show is portrayed.

Consequently, Omaha was not a good show for us so…I will not be back there but will look for a Art Fair there in the summer.
We are working fast and furious on items to take with us to Tucson in February, so that will keep us pretty busy until then.  We added lots a new stuff to the website and sold quite a bit at Christmas and have replaced those also so the selection is great!!  Stop on over to see what we have at www.magicaldelights.com.

I was told by the customers that the schools are even closed, city wide, during the show.  The St James Court Show Art Show is usually mentioned among the top Art and Crafts Shows in the US.

This weekend Magical Delights will be in Omaha, Nebraska for the Autumn Festivals an Arts and Crafts Affair at the Qwest Center.    We will be there November 17 th thru the 20th each day from 9:00 to 7:00 for Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 9:00 to 5:00 on Sunday.  Stop out if you are in the neighborhood to see our newest Handcrafted Jewelry Designs by Magical Delights.

He had an interesting little story that went with the rocks.  He was working as a care taker on a big ranch in Colorado, so when he was not busy care taking he would just kind of look around.

He found this interesting stone formation kind of by mistake.  When he told the Lady that owned the property what he had found, she said that he could help himself with it and use it for his own financial benefit.  How great is that!!

Here is a close up of some of Qsar’s Blue Green Kyanite.  The largest one is 1  7/8 inch wide by 2 1/4 inch high by 1 inch deep.  The smaller one is 1 1/4 inch wide by 1 3/8 inch high by 1 inch deep.

Next to Qsar we happened to meet some Peruvian Vendors and Jean made friends with them.

The drive through the mountains was, as you would expect, spectacular – unfortunately I was driving so didn’t get any shots of it.

The Show was really a gem!! With lots of excellent vendors.

This weekend Magical Delights will be in Door County for the Fine Line 38^th Annual Townline Art Fair on the north side of Ephraim Saturday October 8^th and Sunday October 9^th from 10:00 am.  Door County is always beautiful this time of year!! Septemberfest, Schaumburg Illinois 2011

Magical Delights will be celebrating by offering our Signature Handcrafted Jewelry Designs at the 36^th Annual Art in the Park in Wausau Wisconsin this weekend, September 10^th and 11^th.   You will find us in the Exhibition Building and East Gate Hall in Marathon Park, Wausau.  Hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day.  It looks like perfect weather this weekend with Sunny and Mostly Sunny skies for both Saturday and Sunday.  What perfect weather for our weekend festivities.

Wausau’s  Artrageous Weekend is just the beginning of this beautiful season where the cool crisp air and the colored leaves are so invigorating that you just can’t help but have a little more spring in your step.

We at Magical Delights hope you that your summer season was fun filled and exciting.  Now with school starting and things getting back to a routine take a little time to take in all of the sights and sounds and other fun activities that go along with Wausau’s Annual Artrageous Weekend.

Exogenic Fulgurites

It took a while for us to start on this – such a busy Art Festival Season, but Magical Delights now has a limited number of Exogenic Fulgerites available.  It has been an adventure working with them.  So far we are quite pleased – as are the customers who have requested and patiently waited for our new creation.

So far we are not certain if we will be able to make jewelry out of the longer pieces, but have used some of the smaller ones with other small stones to create a new version of our Signature Style Wearable Art.

These are a couple of examples of the pendants that we created with Exogenic Fulgerites.  There are a limited number of these  that can be used in this way and I believe that these may very well be sold, but I thought that it would make for an interesting blog:))

To refresh your memory about these interesting quirks of nature, I will offer our original blog about the Exogenic Fulgerites from back in March of this year.  They were a very interesting find while in Tucson at the Gem and Mineral Show.  You just never know what you will find while you are there!!

While I am on the subject of the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, Magical Delights is preparing to go to Denver for the Denver Gem and Mineral Show in a few weeks.  While we are in Denver we stock up somewhat on materials to use to create more Magical Delights Handcrafted Jewelry Designs.   Occasionally we ask if anyone has anything in particular that you would be interested in while we are there – any special request of sorts.  If you have any special request, please let Magical Delights know by September 6th.   

In the immediate future, Magical Delights will be offering our beautiful Handcrafted Jewelry at the 41st Annual Septemberfest Saturday September 3rd thru Monday September 5th in Schaumburg Illinois.  This is always a really great event with great entertainment and many other amenities.  This is a wonderful way to enjoy the last big weekend of the summer.  We hope to see many of you there!!

We are working our way thru Summer Art Fair Season, and frankly we haven’t had much time to make more of our Flames of Ishtar™.

David and Mike Alberson are the Sons of John The Ringman.  We need to send energy to John in his battle with physical dis-ease.  He is being led by the universe to let his sons carry more of the load.  Hope John is doing OK!! 

After that it was Artarama and Neenah where they have really good food.  You’ve seen the pictures on an earlier blog.

I went with Jean to Austin Texas to do a Body Mind Spirit Expo there and we saw many other friends.

See John, who is Megan’s Dad, (the organizer of the shows) and he and Doris usually are the gate keepers @ the Body Mind Spirit Expo shows, are a really swell couple and I wish them well.

Also Steven Rosely of CrystalMaster.com had his set up – the airline lost his luggage so all his expensive pieces were late in coming.

Next to us was Nature’s Treasures, they have a big store in Austin and brought in a bunch of large pieces which were quite interesting.

And then of course, there was Jean and a bunch of Magical Delights stuff.  Spirit Dancer Crystals had a good show then.  It was 100 degrees during most of the show so we were glad to be inside.

This last week end I was in Appleton at the Trout Museum’s Art in the Park and it was OK.

It seems that Art Festivals are places for people to see each other but not so much for buying stuff.  All our shows since April have been way down in sales but up in crowds.  The woman next to us mentioned that she only sold ½ as much as last year.  But we will endeavor to persevere.

This weekend Magical Delights will be appearing at the Evanston Lakeshore Art Festival, August 6th and 7th in Dawes Park, Evanston Illinois.  We are expecting a great weekend and would love it if you would stop out and see us while we are there!!

Food Layout at Neenah Village

Sunday I was in Neenah at the Bergstrum-Mahler Museum Art in the Park.  The organizers know how to take care of their vendors!!  They had a Party Saturday Night and a really nice breakfast layout for the morning with ICE TEA, several kinds of muffins and a FRUIT CUP.  WOW!!

See Peggy McDaniel and Friends descussing the new set up.They put the vendors along the roads in the Park rather than in rows as before. It worked out OK, however, they neeed to connect the two ends so that people will come around again. Maybe next year. Neenah Art Festival Park

The weather got really hot with heat indexes of 110 to 115 so most customers were done by noon.

This coming weekend I will be appearing with Jean Tindle of Spirit Dancer Crystals at the Body Mind Spirit Expo in Austin, TX.  We have a great collection of wand that will be available to customers there.

Our next Art Festival s will be the Owatonna Festival of the Arts in Owatonna Minnesota on July 30th and 31st, and The Trout Museum’s 51st Annual Art in the Park in Appleton City Park, Appleton Wisconsin  on July 31st   .  Hope you can stop by to see us while we are there!!  Otherwise, by all means, please stop by our website as www.magicaldelights.com  to see what we have available there.
